Canon 1D-X, 500mm f4 x 2.0 teleconverter, handheld from truck window
f16, 1/1250, ISO1600

I found a flock of Wilson's Snipe in New Meadows, Idaho this morning. 30-35 birds. I hadn't known they migrated in flocks.

75% of full frame. Selective sharpening of bird.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Good pose and detail in the snipe and nicely framed by the grass. I had always seen Snipe as solitary until last winter when I saw a large flock flying in southern Oregon.

Very good lighting and a wonderful pose in this environmental shot.  Color is quite pleasing.  The facial area seems a tiny bit soft compared to the beak and the proximal plumage.  I don't know if this is an issue created by your tele-converter with respect to decreasing image quality or whether the focus point was a tiny bit off.  I only noticed this in the larger image.

You got very nice light and a good bit of the environment, Jim. The main subject is very sharp. Looks like most birds migrate in flocks - even those that are solitary in their breeding habitat.

Excellent, Jim.  Good detail and composition and I like the habitat.  I saw eight or ten of these together at Ridgefield a year or two ago, but 30-35 is really neat.
