I guess is obvious why it's called "Monument Cove".

Nicely composed. There's a sense of a leading line to the wave splash in the background. I like the colors of the rocks contrasting with the colors of the water and there are interesting patterns in the rocks to study. One very small nit would be to clone out the spiky plant coming out the side of the monument.

Michael, I'm enjoying this one very much. I agree with Allen that this comp leads your eye right back to the nice splash. Then I come back to all the great looking rock and just explore it for awhile. I also like the mood created with this sky. Really nice details and color in this. I also agree with Allen about cloning out the small branches on the rock wall edge. For some reason it just seems to distract a bit. Nice work!

Beautifully dramatic image, Michael. Love the splash, the sky, and the in your face cliffs of the right. I might do a bit of perspective adjustment to the rocks. The wide angle always seems to distort. Really minor nit, great image.

I am glad to see you post this one, Mike. This has some wonderful drama in the sky and I love the details, textures and color of the Acadia granite. I too think this does a masterful job of directing the viewer to that crashing wave in the BG. My only suggestion would be the already mentioned cloning of the plant along the left side of the monument. Great job on this one.

Beautiful, moody image of the Atlantic. Love the foreground rocks as well as the "monument." Yes, I think I would clone out the little plant coming out of that rock also.

I agree with all of the comments already made. I do think for me the clouds add the real drama to the image. If it was a clear blue sky it would be a nice image but not nearly as dramatic.

A very dynamic image, with loves of movement provided by both the striking rock formations along the shore and the clouds. Add to that the water action and you have a winner.
The overall dark mood is also very attractive and really showcases the power of nature.

Excellent scene, Michael. Always a big fan of geological structures in landscape scenes such as this. And, of course the timing on the crashing wave is a real fine addition to this wonderful image......
