Moose Crossing

It's always fun documenting animals in an "abnormal" environment.  I've photographed plenty of moose on land, for example, but not too many crossing a creek in waist-deep water.  This moment occurred during my spring Yellowstone tour, when this younger adult kept lingering near a cow with twin calves until she finally chased it off.

This does a super job of displaying both the power of the moose and the power of the water. Great shot!

That is really some fast water.  Nice catch of an unusual situation.  Good detail, too. You can see some interesting scars on her.

Nice capture of the action, Max!  The large version is especially nice with all the extra detail.  This wouldn't be that unusual a situation with Moose in Alaska.  They have to cross fast streams and rivers everywhere they go.  Those long legs definitely give them an advantage though.

Gary: I really like the power seen in the moose as well as the fast flowing water. Seeing the moose mid-stream is a welcome change. Richard

Very cool image, I like the way Moose is leaning against the flowing water.

Excellent detail and I like the pose and water a lot, Max.  Nicely done.
