Fire Art

I guess those of us in California have had fires on our mind this summer. Here is a photo I took on the rim of Bryce canyon, a little tree with exposed roots that many have probably taken pictures of. I did lots of things to this little tree in Photoshop, most of which I can't remember! Also took it into Photo Effex Pro.

Thanks in advance for any comments or critiques.

I know this tree!
Very effective artwork here - love the light, ghost-like  tree, swirled and shaded BG, and colour combinations.

Nicely done.  I like the root structure.  It has a Bonsai look to it.  For my taste I'd like something in the right upper corner that contrasts more with the tree.

I like this, Kathy.  While it's clearly a tree, the base looks like ocean and the background feels like there's a distant fire.  It's a fine piece of art.

Kathy: Oh my, this is wonderful! The tree did look familiar and when you identified it at Bryce Canyon it made sense. Love the infrared like rendering of the tree and the BG is marvelous. Many thumbs up.>=))>
