Those of you familiar with my work know that Bird of Paradise is one of my favorite subjects. While the flowers can be spectacular I think the leaves have a beauty of their own. I shot this one for the challenge the other day but I was in a hurry and didn't realize I had left the camera in Watercolor mode. I decided to add an oil paint filter for this offering and liked how it brought out the other colors in the spectrum to complement the green. Please view LARGE. All comments welcome.>=))>

Bill, The lines in the leaves as well as the central stripe create a fine sense of motion.  The subtle color differences and the interesting textures (that I assume come from the "watercolor mode") are very interesting and are best seen in the larger version.  There also a fine hint of glow in the larger version that I wonder if there's a way to bring out a bit more in post processing.  (Possibly some dodging through a luminosity mask that only effects the brightest tones??)
