Folks,
This one kelt waling into my lenshood..and was quite a challenge getting the focus right. Had to make about 500 frame to get some poses. Will begin with this one.
Cloudy conditions,

Hi Balan,

Rhe important features of the mantis are nice and sharp. The image looks good as is. Artistically, the selective use of shallow DOF is effective. .......................Jim

That's a lot of frames to go through, but your patience paid off, as you got focus where it needed to be. The warm green colors are quite nice.

Balan, in the smaller views, this Mantis truly lives up to it's name, as the impression they create is a long blade of grass angled nicely across the frame.  The details in the larger version look great.  I love the big V of the antennae and how they connect the head to the frame.  The claws seem delicate with their translucency, although I'm sure the prey don't think that...  As Jim points out, the shallow dof, with the fine focus on the head, eyes, and claws works very well.

Wow, Balan, you had a great eye to even see this, and a load of patience to capture it.  Well done.  Large view is a must see.
