LBH in Transition

This is another from Jefferson Island last April. It's not often I find these Little Blues in transitional first spring plumage. Typically they don't show off their distinctive yellow feet at this stage. The noontime lighting cast a shadow on the legs which otherwise might have shown better. Full height cropped from LHS to 4x3 aspect. 7D II, 400 DO +1.4x on Wimberley I, ISO 400 1/5000 f6.3 -1 1/3EV

Excellent detail and pose, Bill, and I really like the perch.  You might want to consider burning the large pale oof branch in front of the Heron as it's bright enough to draw the eye a bit.

Great find and capture, Bill.  I don't think I have ever seen one like it.  Maybe they don't come up this far (North Carolina).

Bill:

Nice exposure on the bird.  Details look fine.  I think I'd like to see the image not quite as centered.  What about a vertical crop?  I think that might work.

They are pretty in this transition phase, nice details Bill, I would take a bit off the left and a sliver off the top. devil

Great capture Bill,
This is a nice look at this young LBH who's coloring is one of my favorites of juveniles. I can see the suggestions made in the previous comments would work well and may be worth a try however, this image would make a terrific 'Wall Hanger' as is.
Well done . . . laugh
