This may be my favorite image from my Masai Mara trip. This guy was one of two brothers who hung out together. In fact, his paler maned brother was laying in the grass close by when this image was taken. We had seen them many times before, but in vegetation and in uninspiring poses. I think the photography gods decided to smile on me as this guy was posing on a hill, unobstructed and in great light. Processed with Lightroom and Photoshop. Comments and critiques welcome.

I really like the pose, Jerry, and the lighting does look great.  However, on my monitors, the image just doesn't sem to pop.  I tried shifting between monitors and it looks the same on both of mine.  I think a little more light and some work on the relative brightness/contrast between the lion and background would do it.

Jerry: I like the regal pose of this handsome male whose mane is really beautiful. On my monitor, the scene is dark. I think the overall brightness can be increased with extra attention paid to the lion to separate it from the background. Richard

Thanks Richard and Dennis for the constructive comments. When I took the image, it was quite late. However, I agree with the comments, so I made a few adjustments. I think they are an improvement.
