It's been a while...butterfly

It's been quite a while since I've been posting in the Macro-forum. I've been shooting avian-subjects a lot...and since it is very difficult to get close I had no new macro-subject for a while  . But about a month ago I decided to do a little bit of macro photography again. And this is the result. Hope to comment some of your photographs soon and to spend more time on NPN.

Minolta Maxxum 7
Sigma EX 105/2.8
Exposure unrecorded
Gitzo tripod
Shot at a local butterfly-"farm"

The image looks a lot better (warmer, brighter) on my monitor at home, than on my monitor here at the university. Hope it looks ok at yours.

Cheers :wavey:

Great to see you posting an image here Jasper, has been some time since I have seen you post, the image looks fine on my monitor, very nice work with this exposure on the butterfly here, overall the butterfly is a little tight in the frame but that is the way I like to shoot them also..

This is a lovely shot.
I like the exposure, composition, perch and background.
As already said,I think a bit more room in front of the butterfly would make this shot even better.
Look forward to seeing some more. :toast:
