I think that's what this manuever is called in a Kayak, an Endo or Endover. If I was doing it, it would be called the old glug, glug, glug move. This is the Nantahala River in North Carolina. Nikon N90s, 300mm f4 Nikkor, Provia. I have found out since posting this that this is a picture of Wayne Dicker who is a 1996 Olympian in the C2 category and is the head Nanthala Outdoor Center Instructor. I am going to send him a print.

Awesome! You really captured the power of the river and the terror in the kayaker's expression.

Excellent shot! :toast: Incredible catch of the action, including the tight muscles in the guy's arm. You really caught the tension in this one. Well done.

This is a super shot! You caught the action perfectly, the exposure is perfect, and the expression on the guy's face could not possibly be better. If this were mine, I'd send it in to Canoe & Kayak magazine. I'm serious.

Great shot, you got the timing of the manuever at the critical point of him taking a gulp of air before going under. It is hard to tell from this photo if this is an endo, a cartwheel, or a space godzilla without knowing what happened during the follow through. But, based on the style of boat he is using (all around river running type, as opposed to a more specialized playboat type) I would guess it is an endo as you correctly called it. An endo would put find him continuing down to the water's surface upside down, at which time he would roll back up and try for another if he was still able to get back up into the hole.
