Gray Jay Landing

I spent yesterday near the Canadian border in NH shooting boreal birds. Grays jay and boreal chickadees are my all time favorite species!! I spent a lot of the day shooting three friendly gray jays in some great light. I set up to try and get a shot of one landing on this perch. Not an easy task! Even at 1/2000 you can still see some motion blur but I'm still pleased with the way this one turned out. Thanks for looking.

Hi Garth,

Very cool! Nice job getting the whole bird in the frame. You caught this one at the ideal moment, and all the techs look perfect. I'd love to have something like this in my files!

Good shooting,

Garth,

There is some motion to the tail and far wing but I think that motion adds to the success of the image because the wing closest to us is in perfect focus.

A beautiful capture, Garth.
