Barn & Ivy Detail

This shot was taken in Weston Bend State Park, Weston, MO last spring. I cropped this about 30% from horizontal to emphasis the linear patterns and contrasts. I also liked how the residual red color in the barnwood's grain matched the color of the new ivy growth. Thanks for looking!

I love simple images like this. The muted colors work very well, and the lines are what make it really work.

--->You were aware the plant is poison ivy, aren't you?

(No, for once I'm not kidding.)

Thanks for all the comments! And yes Kent I am aware that this is poison ivy (if it grows in three, leave it be!). But the conditions were too perfect to pass up, with soft sidelighting that produced some backlit leaves. I spent about 30 minutes on various compositions on the corner of this old barn before the soft light abandoned me. Funny, it doesn't look so "irritating" here!

A most pleasing image Wayne, I like it.
The texture, grain, and patterns of this BG are very complimentary..And those "residual" reds you mention add also. Excellent light, colors, DOF, and detail..
A work of art :toast:
