Death Valley National Park
22-JUL-2005
116F with high winds at sunset

Fuji S2 Pro
Sigma 50-500 @ 500MM (* 1.5)
f22, 1/4s

This has to be one of my favorite photos from last year. Fits perfectly for the theme... not only are the dunes a function of the wind, but with the slow shutter speed you can see the wind in action.

PS did we have two themes last week? I see WC 221 & 222 but the timeframes were identical.

Christian,

this looks very nice to me. I think that the composition could be improved a bit more, by cropping from the top down to the right hand site edge of the sand dune.

This is wonderful, Christian. I love the composition and the light. The flying sand on that one edge really makes this one stand out.

Sweet abstract, I love the flow of lines as well as the light and shadow play. The wind is icing on the cake. Great shot.

I noticed that too, abou the 2 themes overlapping last week, not sure what the deal is.

Nice shot, Christian.

It looks like we're on 222.

Right... there was a mixup on the WC themes a bit. There's a thread in general discussion about it.

The crop idea sounds good - and the image is overall very cool... great light, edges and composition..

Great lighting and impressive capture of the windblown sand. The golden colors are beautiful.
