WC 226 Fallen Rock

The large rock/boulder in the center portion of this image was, not too long ago, 30ft up and still attached to the main wall. By not too long ago I mean with in the last 6-8 yrs. It now sits where the stream used to run and is now diverted. I found this interesting for several reasons including the fact that whenever it came down it didn't roll and the vegetation growing on it remained in tact. I have walked this stream bed up to the falls and yes right where this large rock now rests.

I like the sharpness of the surrounding elements framing this huge rock..

This image invites exploring. Very nice indeed, Barb. Eventually the rock will be tucked in under a blanket of moss

Nice image Barb - I'm glad you weren't set up there waiting for a shot when that rock decided to let go! Wouldn't have hurt for long though. I really like your comp with the dead stick at the diagonal in the FG. Very nice.
