About the only morning glow I got this morning just happened to land on this fella. Even though I'm essentially a landscape photographer, I know a good opportunity when it walks in front of me.

Holy Smokes Todd!!! This is killer!!! I wish I could shoot opportunity landscapes as well as you shoot meandering wildlife.

The rocks in the BG really emphasize the tilting to the right here (not that the photo isn't level). It kind of makes me dizzy, in a good way. Perfect exposure on the deer, and wonderful look.

Todd, I love this...it's a real stunner. I know it must be an illusion, but I have a sense that this is tilting down on the right...it seems the rocks, shrubs, and grass are tilted.
The exposure and DOF are sensational. Color ain't too bad either. Well done.

Very cool Todd! I really like the environmental shots of wildlife. Is it a bit tilted?

Nice catch. The back/side lighting is very nice on the antlers. I also think your landscape tendencies served you well here -- shooting it wider with more of the landscape gives a good sense of place.

I think this is almost as good as your fall wildlife shot last year, not bad for a landscape guy.

Purely delightful to see. I'd guess this sort of opportunitiy doesn't knock a whole bunch of times. Great combiniation of light, background, and subject.

Jeepers, this is nice. The direct stare of the deer really engages the viewer. This is a really wonderful photo. (Careful, one shot like this and you could be tempted to buy that 500 f/4 and head out to shoot four legged critters full time)
