I like shooting to catch the ripples and folds of the web and their inhabitants early in the morning.Canon 300D ,Tamron 200-400mm,1/100sec @f5.6

Excellent Leann! This looks different than the others you showed me...is it a new shot? I haven't seen many spider this year (can't say I'm sorry about that though... )

Thank you everyone ,I appreciate the feedback
I have to do my homework on the species of spiders because they are really enjoyable to shoot and it would be nice to identify them.
Alice-yes it's new ,taken last week. Very nice of you to notice that! They did seem a little late this year-I was watching for them since August. :wavey:

Very nice! I've never seen this perspective on a web which is pretty cool all by itself and then the spider tops it off perfectly. Great DOF and BG as well.

Leann,

This is spectacular. I've never seen an angled lower case alpha used as a compositional element, but I'll keep it in mind. This has to be the most interesting spider-in-web shot I've seen ever. Thanks for posting this. Enter this is a contest or something, really. I assume the spider sharpens up nicely in the original. I'm just reacting to the composition.

This is really unique! After a while here (and I have been around pretty much from week 3), you begin to see the same photos in different forms, but I have never seen anything like this before.

Someone suggested entering it into a contest - hold off until one of the bigger (inter)national ones come around. This should do really well!

You sure accomplished what you set out to do. What an amazing image! I love how the triangle of web coming in from top left points right to the spider. There is a sense of flow and form to the web that is interesting and makes one realized what a grand architect its builder is. Well done. Congratulations. :toast:
