Elk Rub

Elk are my favorite subject this time of year and they are in full rut now. This is a bull making a rub on a fir tree. A rub is a sight and scent signpost, also strengthens neck muscles and probably relieves frustrations as well.

Duane, just an excellent shot and a perfect rendition of this very natural process these guys go through. Detail is very outstanding and you have some nice catch light in the right eye as well as off the right side of the nose. Very well done.
