Wow! I love this image. The foreground almost looks like snow to me. But for the sliver of ocean, this shot could easily have been in the northwoods. Great shot.

Wow Bill - you really nailed this one. Perfect exposure and the colors are incredibly true to life. I love how the light diffused the background clouds on the right. Great foreground as well. Excellent!

Best,

This is impressive. It reminds me of some biblical art. My own preference would be to slightly dodge the foreground.

Its still an awesome image. Great job!

Wow Bill! This is SOME sunrise! I love the FG just as much as the rest of the shot. IMO a good sunrise or sunset needs a good FG and you captured one here.

YIKES.......Bill, this is a very impressive capture. I feel the 3 stop grad was just about right. It leaves us with what I feel is natural view of the foreground and not overpowering the real object of the scene here of the cloud formation and sunburst. :toast:

Thanks everyone for the kind words and suggestions. As for the FG, I actually did lighten it just a bit during post processing, but obviously not enough for some. The main step I took on the FG was to remove a lot of the blue from the sand. I left some since it was a bluish cast, but removed quite a bit. Thanks again for your comments.

Bill,

This is fantastic!! I like the drama of the brilliant sunset juxtaposed against the more serene sandscape. Another very nice one.

Big WOW! Awesome shot, Bill! Smart move on the 2 shot composite. I do this a lot. If you can't squeeze all the glory into one frame just turn the camera and take two frames. It also makes for a much higher res shot and thus larger and cleaner prints. Don't you dare crank up the foreground light anymore. That would be like petty theft, trying to steal the show from the rightful subject, that incredible sunset and rays. The foreground supports the scene very nicely and thats what it should do in this scene. Very definitely a fine art wall hanger here! :toast: :toast:
