This shot of a two year-old Brown Bear cub was taken from a hide deep inside the taiga forest of Eastern Finland.

Cubs are born during the winter months and stay close to their mother for over a year, but this one was abandoned by his. Luckily, he was not alone, as he had a little sister and together they seemed to do just fine. Large males however can be very agressive towards young cubs, so they have to be extremely careful not to run into one by accident. Whenever they hear or see something, they get onto their hind feet to check it out.

What a fabulous shot, Marsel! Wow!! Everything is good, the light, the action of the bear, the DOF.
I've seen your website too and it looks great! The bear movie is fantastic, to see the behaviour of these animals is just great!

Your bear shots are just excellent. Great light, vivit colors and your processing techniques are outstanding. Your series is the best I've seen from Finland so far. Lovely shot.

Prashant - do you have the latest version of Flash installed? I run Firefox myself and have no problems. Does it work in another browser? Thanks for the heads up.
