Super capture of a beautiful bird, David. I can't get one just sitting still and you have one in a magnificent flight mode.

Having recovered from being totally speechless all I can think of now is "Wow!".
It's one thing to get a nice shot of a Cardinal. Trying to get a shot in flight? Forget about it. They don't fly level, constantly jerking about. But, you've got yourself an in-flight shot. And not one that is merely acceptable -- but really outstanding.
And then I read your techs on this and see that you pulled this off with a humongous piece of glass. Impressive. Handheld? Unreal.

Like everyone else, I'm a bit in awe of this shot...can't come up with any superlatives that haven't already been used without breaking-out a thesaurus though! I am a little surprised that 45 comments later and no one else was itching to ask you what created that marvelous gradation in the background! Was it OOF foliage, the side of a building, a sunset...WHAT?!!
