Red-billed Oxpeckers (Buphagus erythrorhynchus)
This is one of those photographs that, when I saw it coming together, I had to get it. Though I was never satisfied with it photographically, it is too wonderful a moment not to share.

For those of you who think this belongs in fauna, I see you post birds and habitat all the time! Just think of this warthog as habitat.

Photographed with Canon EOS 1v, 600mm lens, shot off rice bag in window, scanned from slide.

I really like the way you got both birds in focus, and the "habitat" is over the top  Seriously, a great shot. It almost looks like the warthog is wearing bird shaped ear muffs..

All he needs is lenses and he would look like Elton John with some of his crazy glasses! I love it! :toast:

Hard to argue about it being "habitat." And certainly made me smile. Nice work!

So can you post it in fauna too? This is great Terry! The background may have some dark areas and I would love to see the birds better. What does this look like if you crop to the Warthog's head?

Very cool! Congrats on the EP. I originally missed this last week when I was in FL but I'm happy I caught it this time around.
