The foothills where I live still show the noticeable effects of a massive fire that ripped through the area about 4 years ago. The black-and-white skeletal frames of the small oaks which cover the hills create bold outlines against the more colorful emerging undergrowth. I tried using the "Cutout" filter on the original image and then did some fine-tuning of the contrast, color and saturation from there. I wanted to emphasize the myriad of repeating patterns and textures, but I'm unsure as to whether the comp is strong enough on this. Any suggestions for improvement or general impressions on this piece would be greatly appreciated!

Harsi I love the comp and the digital filtering you used on this. :toast:

Harsi, I love the quality of being "painted" with the textures and colors. Very effective use of filter and creative work. :toast: :toast:

Harsi, this is just beautiful. I think the filter you've selected for this is perfect and this is one of those images that one can look at for a long time. Expertly done! :toast:

I hate to use an antiquated phrase, but...gnarley Harsi! Wonderful lines and angels in this scene. Nicely filtered too.

WOW :toast: :toast: :toast: :toast: , congratulations on a very fine piece of ART. The filters really accentuate the skeletal feeling and the color graduations red, green to gray give the feeling of regrowth, it's like if I look at this again in an hour I would expect to find the color had spread a little higher in the frame. Excellent image.

It is very interesting see how our taste buds receive an image (more so with an abstract image) differently. Sure there is no right or wrong interpretation but it is facinating. To me this is symbolic of life - joy and sorrow, life and lifeless.. This separation represented in a single image with a nice partition of colors. That said, personally I would like to see more of joy  with greener shades extending up.

Congrats Harsi on the EP :wavey:
