Hi to everyone. After half a year in NPN I think is time to upload a picture of me and here is it. This shot is from last year and I am in front of one of my acrylic paintings. I have been shooting for more than twenty years (now I am 40 yo), mostly birds, but I consider that I am not a photographer but a birder. I love birds and I love paint birds, in fact I began to take pictures as a support for my paintings activities but when I got digital (2003) I began to spend more, and more time after a viewfinder and now my painting activities are at serious risk because I almost devote all my free time to photography!! (in fact I devote all my incomings from bird painting to raise my photographic gear).
Is a pleasure to be part of this community and I have to say that I learn a lot of things about bird photography reading your comments and enjoying the quality of the pictures shown here. I am biologist by training and during a period of time I was an scientific researcher writing papers on bird behaviour, mostly on nightjar ethology, here in Spain but also I conducted field research on the amazon area (Perú and Ecuador). Now I have a fulltime job in nature conservation (planning natural resources in protected areas) but unfortunately most part of my working time is on a computer and I would prefer to spend more time on the field.

5 commentsI really enjoy your amazing pictures and your funny and intelligent stories
BTW you have a good eye, there is no red paint on my brushes. In fact that picture was shot to illustrate an article on my artwork for a magazine several weeks after I completed the painting process.
