Microcosm in the pond

In the greenhouse near home there is a small pond where often I go for admiring the nature and taking pictures. This year there are two beautiful new plants: the lotus that I already posted and this tropical blue water lily. I included a bit of microcosm with the bud and on it a little aquatic animal (don't ask me what it is! But I swear that I have seen it while swimming). There is an appearance of three suns side by side of three different colours.

D2X - Nikkor F200mm. micro - 1/125s. at f/22 and 100 ISO - Spot exp. +0,5 EV.

A capture unusual for me with the BG so clear. I hope to read your always very useful comments.

The strong light works REALLY well here Gigi. I love the color in the lily bloom. A very nice BG too. What a beautiful shot!

Gigi, I agree with Nathan, what a beautiful shot. The flower is outstanding as well as the green under the water. Outstanding.

Gigi, Very pleasing :toast: :toast:. I really like the inclusion of the bud behind the Lily and even more interesting is that its following almost the same angle as the Lily.

Very nice presentation of this beautifully colored waterlily. The background works well with all the different tones of green and browns of the lilypads. Nicely captured.

The detail and colours of the flower are amazing, Gigi. I'm not sure, myself, about the angle of the shot. It certainly is distinctive, but makes me feel kind of tippy. I love the way the BG is in focus though. As always, a wonderful photo!

Gigi Bravo I love it. A beautiful play with 3 different lights. The compliment of blue and yellow sets a beautiful center for this lovely image The light is fantastic.

Gigi: This is one of the most pleasing water lilly shots I've seen in quite a while and there have been some really good ones lately. What sets this apart for me is the angle of the light and the resultant shading. A wonderfully well thought out comp and a superb capture. 2+ thumbs up!!! :toast: :toast: :toast: >=))>

The lily itself, and the lily pad around the bud are glowing with color, exuding the light in which you found them. You composed and exposed perfectly to accomplish this feat. Great work; bravo, Gigi!

gigi -

Bice comp and image. Really appreciate the shading and how it allows appropriate capture of the blues. Did you use fill flash?? Very visually strong. Minor nits are the cut off shadow of the bud, but I don't think this is really worth fixing.
