I love Photoshop and Painter fascinates me... not to where I totally change an image in either program. I went to a demonstration of photo recoloring, and thought... I could do that all on the computer, with Painter! Anyway... this is my first attempt, a bit rough around the edges.

I love the ocean, the waves and the birds. I used to draw waves, trying to capture the power, movement. The birds are from another image.

I am looking for a marketable technique.
Comments please... honest ones.

Well I like what you have to to the edges Barb. Really nicely worked without making things too sharp. The tones are excellent IMO.

This looks superb Barbara.

It would look really great in big framed on the wall.

I like the single bird and can work on the appearance. The pair look too heavy. I am going to remove them. Staring at something long enough, taking a break and coming back again sure does help.

I think it's great Barbara! Very marketable. I think you may be right on the 2 birds...it looks better with just the one.

Very marketable indeed! Can just hear the call of the gulls, the crashing of the waves and the heat of the sun. Great movement and mood.

Hmm, interesting comments on those two birds Barb. Thinking and looking at it with a coffee, Maybe. I would be careful without the balance of those two birds. If you go for just the one bird, it might need to be placed where those two are now Barbara. That position in the top right thirds is what gives it balance. On the other hand, having the bird over the sea wave makes it more beliveable........if you know what I mean.

The soft feathering and blending on the edges is perfect.

I would be interested to see what you come up for this one.

All the best, again

Danny.

I know the bird is 'real' and the waves are definitely enhanced. I worked on the edges of the bird, but unless I enhance it, it will always look pasted. That is not my problem... I am going to ask, is it a bad combo? I removed the duo and moved the single a bit in the duo's former location. I like it better. It is like working with a puzzle. Exploring is FUN.

Also, I thank the powers that be for the Editors Pick
