WC#291 - Resting Wolf (captive)

I have the impression that photographing captive animals may be sometimes much more challenging as wild ones. There are several things that make the photography of captive animals dificult, like fences, unnatural surroundings, and the fact that I have the impression that captive animals never seem to rest. They are continously moving. Sometimes I think that it is because they are looking for the relatively small chance to escape...
Well, this photo was dificult to make, since it was across a fence, another fence was slightly visible at the background, and this guy just stood still for a few seconds...

Nice capture, I love the soft colors and the look in it's eyes.

Cay-Uwe, a very beautiful shot of this majestic animal. I agree with your observation of shooting captive too, especially wolves. They tend to be always pacing in captivity, as you put it, looking for a way out. Thanks for sharing this fine image.

Beautiful portrait of this Wolf, Cay. The expression in his eyes says it all.

I really like the soft light and the details in the wolf. Congratulations on the pick.
