Just officially joined, after lurking for a long time I finally feel like I have some photos which are worthy of posting here. I live in the Twin Cities area and my day job is computer programming. I shoot with Canon equipment and recently bought a 500mm f/4 which I'm really enjoying. I actually have a reason to look forward to winter now, because that's when the best eagle shooting is!

Here's a self-portrait from a camping trip to Necedah National Wildife Refuge a few weeks ago - hat hair, wrinkled clothes and all. It was a trip to see whooping crane chicks being trained to migrate. Looking forward to participating here and learning a lot!

Thanks for the suggestion, Bill. You're right that I mostly spend time with telephotos and birds, but I do have a wide angle which I should use more often. There are definitely some inspirational shots in the ESS forum!
