Surrounded by the Sea

A trio of boulders on Indian Beach surrounded by the seas of the incoming tide as the sun sets over the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse. I arrived with another photographer to catch the sunset. It was raining, he left while I slipped on my rainjacket and was able to catch the spectacular colors of this sunset.

Comments and Critiques Appreciated!

Oh yes. I like this very much. Nice use of shutter to get a touch of motion in the water. I like the composition with the 3 rocks up front. Wish there was a touch more detail on the front of the rocks. Any chance of dodging those areas? Still a VERY nice image :toast:

I hope you didn't fall after you "slipped on your rainjacket". Not many photographers are able to catch such a sharp and colorful image especially in a quarter second. Good job.

Sweet shot your positioning of the boulders is really nice. The saturation seems to be a bit strong, but otherwise the colors are great!

Beautiful Mike. The inclusion of sand at the front of this really puts my feet in the water. :toast:

Beautiful Mike. I like the way you kept the foreground rocks from merging with each other and the wave is captured nicely coming through them. And that beautiful sunset to go with it all! Cliff

Great catch! Very skillful use of the 3-stop too. The positioning of the rocks makes a very strong composition.

Mike, I thought I had commented on this the other day, I guess not, very nice I like it full frame and also I like it if cropping from both sides for a 4x5 look too. :toast:

I like how you anchored this with shot with the three rocks in the foreground. The shutter speed you chose is also nice here. The saturation seems a bit too much though, especially the yellows around the setting sun.

Mike---I had a similar experience at Canon Beach last month ( see my blog for the whole story) . People are funny aren't they?

I love this image. Getting Tillamook LH in so sharp really makes this for me.

Beautiful light and color. Love the sand in the foreground, it adds a richness to the shot. The light on the water is amazing. What a beautiful sunset.
