Here's the other Australia image that Nate asked me to post. Photographed in the Atherton Tablelands, Queensland.

1D MkIIN, 500mm f4 IS, 1.4X, ISO 400, 1/1000, f9, cloudy morning light.

That is awesome! So much going on here, wings out, foot uplifted, intense eye, and just a great shot, as always!!! :toast: :toast: :toast:

What a great shot! I love the look in the birds eye. The pose, composition etc. is all top notch. I've been a fan of your work for a long time. I even love your western tananger photo next to your website info. It's too bad that you couldn't have captured this falcon with some strong morning/evening light with some darker clouds behind him (as opposed to the soft cloudy light) but it's great the way it is too. It has a very natural feel to it.
Thanks for sharing.

Has a still-life feel to this one, perhaps because everything is so perfect. :toast:

Excellent Bob, great lighting and tack sharp, timing is perfect. I've always liked shooting brown falcons, they seem to be more trusting than most raptors.

Another great shot Bob. I particularly like the raised left foot and the nice view of the underside of the wings. Looks like the bird was struggling a bit to establish his perch.

It's beautiful... Are these the same as the saker falcons? I have a friend who's a master falconer and he has two sakers. They look alot like this one. :toast:

No, they're not. Saker Falcon is Falco cherrug and from Eurasia. This bird is Falco berigora and endemic to Australia.

Thanks all for the kind comments.
