Muted And Naked

It could be fall or spring . I took this one last weekend.
I made a series of images of trees in a little 'prairie' standing ina very subtle and muted environement. I know this is not showing so much interests for web viewing... but in the recent times this has been my cup of tea.

4/5 Zone VI Ultralight
360mm Apo-Ronar
Velvia 100F

Thanks again for looking and let me know what this one's doing to you...

Salut

I love it, Michel. Great textures, and a lovely muted color palette. I was wondering when we'd see more 4x5 work from you. Let's see more.

What's it doing to me? I'm smelling that sweet brown grass in the BG.

i like your cup of tea, Michael  Love the textures on the wood against the softness of the muted grasses. The lighting on the trunk and grasses is very subtle...nicely done.

The texture and the detail is simply exquisite! Certainly a case where a centered subject is the best way to go. Fantastic image.

Michel, I think we share a love for this type of images. As soon as I saw it I was reminded of one of my own favorites (http://www.scenicwild.com/sw/gallery/image.jsp?iid=c000478). I can stare at these images for hours, admiring the curves, details, and interaction of the tree with its surrounding.

Thanks

Thanks Michael;
I haven't used my 35mm since awhile but posted some reedition of older stuff as I don't spend too much time in the wild these days. I also had a light leak with the Zone VI that costed me some frames. Now I'm back and really love that 360 mm...Think I'm going to make an offer on it

Thank you so much Guy...Look at your E-Mail

Michel,

Love the detail and the subdued color palette. I’d like to see this image captured on the new Astia 100F!

Very nice - no nits at all. Looks just like a Ketchum, Burkett, or Legendre print.

Cheers,

I really like the tonal values you have in the background. Allows the tree to be seen much clearer. This tree has much movement.

Hi Michel,
the colors are extremely complimentary and the composition is very effective. It is not an easy subject but you manages to arrange it well in the frame :toast:
