Yellow Jacket

Greetings from Portland! The last couple of months was a flurry of activity leading up to this eventual relocation to Portland. While picking up and packing Spark's belongings from the backyard in Washington I spotted this torpid Yellow Jacket on a photinia.

Almost full frame - a slight crop all around for presentation.

HI Will,

Congratulations on a really fine image with great details and color. I really like the vertical compositon and the perch. You need to stop moving Will as it's difficult to keep track of you.

I like everything about this: clean & sharp, great use of minimal depth of field, nice use of red in a way that doesn't distract from the subject. and an engaging face to look at.

As they said at Bunker Hill, "Don't shoot until you see ocelli."

Will, Up close and personal, that yellow jacket almost looks like a friend.

Very cool angular shot.
