Barred Owl

I made this image a couple of weeks ago. It was pretty neat because I went to an Audubon place with my kids and I didn't even have my big lens with me until we were on the trails and I saw this guy. He hung around just long enough for me to run back to my car in the snow and get a few shots.

Canon EOS 40D ,Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS USM
1/200s f/6.3 at 700.0mm iso400 - This is also slightly cropped.

Thanks for looking!

Joe

Super image, Joe! Great eye-contact and exposure. The angle of view is not steep at all. A fine addition to your portfolio.

I think the overall color palette here really helps with this terrific picture. The stare and feather detail are great, and the talon poking out if a nice touch. Very cool.
