Snowshoeing in Waterton lakes National Park, our backyard....

I grew up in Nova Scotia and during my university years I would travel to Alberta to cook in a hotel in Waterton Lakes National Park (borders Glacier NP in Montana). I finally moved to Alberta in 1986 and reside in Calgary. Waterton is our second home and we spend our weekends and holidays there at our cabin on the edge of the park.

I first started handling a camera in my youth but never became seriously involved with it until about 10 years ago. I used to go looking for images but now I realize that "looking" is overrated. Now I leave the cabin the in the morning without any preconceived ideas and I just let nature show herself. Some days are OK and then some days "she" blows me away.

I teach flower portraiture workshops in the spring and I'm a juried artist at the Calgary Stampede. I also sell my work through a gallery that we've created at the cabin. All visitors welcome so drop me a line if you plan to travel to Waterton.

I hope you enjoy my images as much as I do (and thanks for the constructive comments)...

Looks like fun! We tried to go to Waterton while backpacking in Glacier after college, but the Canadian border station wouldn't let us in because we didn't have proof of some small amount of money per day, so instead of driving 60 miles to get a bank reciept we just stayed in Glacier for a few more days. To their credit we did look rather suspect - we were moving to Wasington State and had everything we owned in the back of our Toyota pick-up .
