Canon 20D, tripod, remote release, 1/200 sec @f/22 and Iso 100. Shot with a TS-E 24mm tilted. Just wanted to try out my new lens and would appreciate your opinions on this image. In particular, the smaller green stem, do you prefer this with/without.

Jeff, I like this a lot and would leave the stem. My only nit is it's too small in this format to really get a look at the detail. I bet it looks great as a large print.

Jeffrey - you are just blowing me away with your incredible work! I would leave the small stem - for some reason it just fits! This is great! :toast:

Lovely! How graceful and alluring. Personally I think the little green leaf adds interest.

I'm with everyone else, Jeffrey - the comp is exquisite and the tiny stem adds rather than detracts I feel.

First rate shot Jeff. Perfect comp, lighting and exposure. Looks to be loaded with detail. Small leaf fits in the image just fine. I don't have a TS lens and don't know it's applications except for landscape/architectural shots. Why did you use it here...just to play?

I would leave it in, Jeff. For what ever reason groupings of three seem to work better than two IMO. This has a elegant classical feeling to it; creating a very beautiful image.

Leave the stem in...it is after all, a part of the plant. Excellent work, Jeff!

Another vote for "leave it in". Just an all-around awesome presentation, Jeff. The framing, matting, all add up to another winner. :toast: :toast:

What a beauty Jeffrey! Perfect in everything. I love the tones of light and the darkening all around the flower. A 1 cent opinion: a very little stroke with the clone at the tip of the lower leaf on the right, just where it meets the petal of the iris. Only for dividing the two elements. A great work, Jeffrey.
Cheers.
