Cottonwood leaves trapped in thin ice left by flooding along the Yakima River this January when the river froze over and left its banks.

I love the trapped ice bubbles and the colors. The beautiful opaque blue ice contrasts nicely with the yellow and reddish-brown leaves. By coincidence, I've got a somewhat similar image that I was planning to post. While I like yours better, maybe I'll go ahead and post mine to compare, if that's ok with you.

I really like the bubbles and the crispness of the leaves in the ice. The blueness really accentuates the cold feeling.

MIke, this is just awesome! The color palette is just ... a mix or artic meets autumn! I just love it. I find myself viewing for longer and longer.

Mike, I saw one of your similar images awhile back now, but missed seeing this fine capture. This is very nice in composition, detail, and colorful too. Congratulations on the EP selection in this category too. :toast:
