Larry, it's very appropriate. WOW! And weren't you the person commenting on the black drama of the blue iris? You think your image is a tea party?
When I opened the thumbnail, all I could say was, "Oh, my goodness ...."
It's an excellent image and a perfect candidate for this week's theme
What kind of a spider is it? Do I dare ask?
I love how you captured the spider, the web and the wonderful DOF with the spider web's shadow.
Great job. I hope others get to see it too

First rate work Larry. Exceptional detail and perfect dof to show off the web and spider.

Carol,
It's a Black-and-yellow Argiope. My grandfather had these in his garden every year and we always called them garden spiders. The silk webs are unbelievably strong. We were always intimidated by these creatures, hense the title. Yeh, I tried to make it dark to create some drama. Thanks for the comments. Larry

Talk about highlighting the main features, nice thinking and execution there Larry. Man does that stand out of what. Fantastic diagonal macro and so very sharp. Thats some shot to start with Larry. Awesome shot and result in this one.
All the best Larry and well picking out the main feature.
Danny.

I think you are right! Man, how can you go wrong when you start off with such a perfect shot? One of the best orb weaver shots I have seen, no matter what you do with the colors, and this treatment does really work.
