Ferns and Forest

This was posted recently in Flora Forum as Ferns and Firs. I added CS3 artistic filters and toned down the brightest ferns just a bit. The result gives a more accurate view of the texture and depth I appreciated at the time. With all the edits (filters), here it is is Photo Art.

D200, 24-120 at 120 mm, circ.pol., tripod; f32, 0.7s, +0.7 EV, ISO 400.

Comments welcome. Thanks.

Catherine, a very unique perspective on this which I like very much. Just enough detail in the fern leaves to still tell what they are. For me I wish the tree trunks in the BG came through alittle more pronounced ! I very nice capture! :toast:

Right, Mitch. Good point. Looked at the image myself this a.m. and thought, darn, I should've lightened the bg about as much as I darkened the fg. Will do. Thanks much for pointing that out. Glad you like the overall look I'm trying for.

This is sooo nice. The filters you chose really enhance the original and make it a magnificent piece or artwork. Can you tell I love it!

Catherine,

I like this very much. I particularly like the range of light from the fg to the bg. Beautiful work.

Beautiful image. Great layers of color and texture. Conveys the feeling of spring in the Northwest very well. Congratulations on the well-deserved EP.
