August Jennewein is a photographer and author who toiled in the roller coaster world of the movie business for ten years. His days at Paramount Pictures taught him how to survive in the belly of the beast, along with other valuable lessons. One such awakening was that if you didn't pay attention to your life it could race right past you. So at a time in this material driven society, when everyone was clamoring to have it faster, faster, faster, he decided to purposefully slow down and take a look at life, his life in particular. Returning to his roots in photography, his first love, he began a year long odyssey which culminated in the publication of his first book, "Slow Down: A Journey in Words and Photographs".
Moving back to his native St. Louis, August struck up a relationship with his childhood zoo animal friends, which led to him becoming one of the St. Louis Zoo's official photographers. He can be reached for assignment or commissioned work at 636-795-9908 or via email at Augie@AugustJennewein.com
