I am a fairly new photographer with a love for taking pictures of nature. I really got started in this hobby when I bought my first digital camera just over five years ago to take some pictures of my newborn grandson.
I have been taking pictures ever since...mostly of animals and flowers. My home is located on a heavily wooded tract and offers abundant flora and even some wildlife on occasion in which to shoot. In addition, my wife's gardening has given me plenty of subjects for macro photos. I also love scenery and "postcard" pictures and venture out to the western states as often as I can to practice.
My wife is a lover of animals, photographs, and nature. She is also a pretty good photographer but her expertise is in photo restoration. She started a small restoration business a couple of years ago and she has helped me considerably with learning the digital darkroom.
I have been shooting with a prosumer camera (Nikon 8800) which seems to be pretty well suited for outdoor and macro pictures. I just recently bought a D80 and I am in the middle of my learning curve with it. I know also, that I will benefit greatly by the many fine photographers in this network.
My wife and I live in Texas and have traveled to the UK and the southwestern states in the USA.
