I am UK based photographer, but travel extensively. I photograph most subjects but my real passion is Nature and Travel Photography. I suppose because I sell the pictures I make I am regarded as a professional photographer but I regard the commercial side as very much secondary. My real motivation is the joy of making images.
My father bought me my first camera when I was eight; this was the start of a lifelong fascination with photography. I was lucky; I had a neighbour who was a keen photographer and willing to help me. By the time I was thirteen I was using his darkroom and developing and enlarging my own photographs. By the age of sixteen I had my own darkroom. For many years I predominately worked in black and white and I am still very fond of this medium. Eventually I moved on to colour transparencies and for the last few years exclusively digital.
I have had articles published in numerous magazines and wrote a regular column for Pentax User Magazine for a number of years. My photographs have been published in magazines and books in many countries and they have also been used for posters and educational purposes. My photographs have also been accepted for exhibitions in the UK. I currently use Canon SLR Cameras and since 2003 I have been exclusively digital.
I am an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society.
