Nature photography has always been my passions in life. I was lucky enough to spend my formidable years growing up in Africa. I spent my school days climbing and exploring Mt Kilimanjaro and my holidays roaming the Serengeti, Lake Manyara and Morongoro Crater. My parents lived right at the base of the rift valley where having an wild osterich as a family pet was a normal thing.
My first camera was a 35mm Casio and a 50mm lens that I bought at the Amsterdam airport when I was 12. I had no idea how to use it but learned through trial and error. It was the perfect camera to learn on. Even after being dropped in Lake Manyara and rolling off the ash peak of Mt. Meru, it still functioned perfectly. I only wish I had the opportunities now that I had then to photograph Africa and all its magnificent treasures.
I started out in photo-journalism and documentary photography. From there, I moved into environmental photography which brought me full circle back to nature photography ... where I began all those years ago.
I now live in Georgian Bay, Canada and manage a stock photography business that specializes in environmental, nature, landscape and aerial photography.
I love what I do and as a self taught photographer and entrepreneur, I enjoy the challenge of learning more about photography and the business of photography every day!
