I have always enjoyed the outdoors. Throughout high school and college, I spent as much time possible hiking in the various county, state, and national parks throughout California. My interest in photography began after backpacking in Yosemite National Park. The majesty of the Sierra Nevada Mountains inspired me to try and capture its pristine beauty.
Although the mountains remain one of my favorite areas, my preferred subject matter transitioned from grand landscapes to intimate scenes and macro photography. Other photographic interests include the creation of nature abstracts and documenting elements of the past from California's gold-mining history. Since relocating to Nevada County a few years ago, I have concentrated on local wildflowers, mushrooms, and scenes along the Yuba River.
My images have been displayed at Nature Photographers Online Magazine, the Spring Festival at Bridgeport, the Artist’s Studio in the Foothills, and the Louvre Gallery in Grass Valley, California. My ambition with photography is to share the beauty of God’s creation - His artistry and intricacy. I believe the more we appreciate the world we are entrusted with, the more we will care for it.
