I am a Danish Wildlife Photographer who concentrate on birds. Most of my photography takes place in Denmark, and in the rest of Scandinavia.
I have lived several years in USA and Mexico, and still go back there to photograph regularly.
I have been an avid birdwatcher since childhood, and have always brougth a camera along. Most of the photos from those early years, functions primarily as a personal reminder of nice birding experiences.
I have been shooting digital during the last 5 years, and today I do most of my photography with Canon 1D MarkIII and Canon 500/4.
I spend all my sparetime pursuing my interest in Nature Photography, and if I could make a living from it - I would. I have a professional job teaching economics and finance. I also serve on the board in NFD (Naturephotographers in Denmark).
All birds fascinate me, but I love the owls and hawks in particular. I usually find the subjects myself, and rarely pursue a hit. With an owl though, I gladly make an exception.
I see nature photography as a way of documenting the natural life of birds, much more than a form of art. Therefore I strive to get photos of birds in action, as well as all kind of behaviour.
Some of the hight-lights in my photography-career has been a trip to the arctic islands of Svalbard, a winter-trip to Minnesota for Owls, as well as couple of international awards, including International Wildbird Photographer of the year 2006 (Winner in the category "Birds in Landscape").
I have been part of the NPN-community since 2003, which I find is a very useful forum for the development of Nature Photographers. During the years I have learned a lot from fellow NPN-photographers.
Currently I'm involved in a couple of book-projects, hoping to see my first book out later this year.
