From Seattle, Washington, Laurie started out as a travel photographer, having traveled throughout much of western Europe, southeast Asia, Mexico, Ecuador, Chile, Tanzania and South Africa. She met and fell in love with a South African nature guide and now lives in Hoedspruit, South Africa where she focuses mainly on bird and wildlife photography.
