I'm a retired Stanford Med School professor now pursuing bird photography in the SF bay area and elsewhere. I started birding late in life. In 2003 at age 69 I began a bird identification course before visiting Costa Rica. My avian photography really began in early 2004 when I brought together my increasing birding activities with my prior interest in digital photography which was directed toward family life and travels since 1998.
