In the busy and complex world we live in today, we sometimes forget to notice the beautiful things around us. It is my goal to share the beauty of the world I see around me. I am fascinated by textures, vibrant colors, intricate details,as well as the play of light that creates abstract images.
Nature is my favorite subject and my greatest joy is to capture the essence of its form and place. It is my hope that my images touch a chord within the viewer that stirs a renewed appreciation and caring for the beauty and diversity of Nature.
I am a self-taught photographer, learning most of my basic techniques from my father, an avid photographer who began his career capturing our life in an Alaskan village. I use both film and digital capture using 35 mm SLR Nikon and Canon cameras.
My work has been shown at Mudpony Gallerie in Gilbert, Arizona, The Gallery Within in Scottsdale and Sunday at Shemer, Shemer Art Center in Phoenix Arizona, both juried shows. Images have been published in a tabletop photo book of US Highway Kitsch entitled, Roadside Americana, and used to illustrate textbooks on Latin America.
Clients who have purchased my private line of hand-assembled art notecards, “Natural Expressions” include Phoenix Desert Botanical Gardens, Textures Gallery, executives of Smith Barney, Columbia University, holistic health centers and others.
