I discovered my love of nature photography in 2005 when I purchased my first digital camera. It has been a mind opening experience to be able to experiment with shooting different kinds of subject matter under many different conditions.
What a pleasure it has become to "smell the roses" and experience what the natural world has to offer!
To observe is to learn and see things that were always there but rarely ever noticed. Whether it is the behavior or appearance of birds, insects, amphibians, reptiles or mammals, or the intricacies of plants, the wonders are all there if you make the effort to see them.
Put a macro lens on a camera and you visit another world not seen with just the human eye. Amazement and beauty abound!
Most of my photos have been taken not far from my front door. I live in the country outside a small town in southwest Michigan.
