I'm a 60 yr old optical physicist who loves being outdoors taking pictures. I've been photographing the USA for over 30 years with an emphasis on the Western USA. I'm about to retire and am planning to use photography as a major retirement activity. My wife and I own a house 30 minutes North of Yellowstone as a retirement residence. We currently live in the Washington DC suburbs. After 25 years of shooting slides, I went digital in 2006 and have been surprised to find how much time I can spend in the "digital darkroom". I'm looking forward to improving my craft and discussing photography with others.
I have led photographic workshops for a local nonprofit, The Audubon Naturalist Society.
I have a Canon 5D and carry lenses including 24-70mm, 70-200 mm, 400 mm, a 1.4 extender, and a 100mm Macro on almost every outing.
