I've been interested in photography since childhood ,along with the visual arts. My interest in art led to a short stint at art college, before turning my attention to music and drystone walling/landscape gardening. I've always kept up art as a hobby, but now, through rediscovering photography coupled with my love of nature, it is almost impossible to seperate me from my camera!
I would describe myself as a very keen amateur, with a wish to turn professional within the next few years. As well as focussing strongly on nature, my subject matter can vary greatly. I particularly like to approach my pictures from a 'painters' point of view, looking for unusual compositions and sometimes pushing colours to their limit - I strive for vibrant ,colourful images every time.
I also produce abstract work - some based from nature, others perhaps inspired by nature.
I have been based in Wiltshire, England for the last twelve years, working as a drystone waller, musician and photographer. I also spend a lot of time in the Austrian Alps, with family connections there, so naturally have a great source of inspiration to capture with my camera.
I use a Pentax k200d at the moment, as well as a smaller Fuji compact for when I'm climbing mountains.
As well as compiling a library of stock images, I am also very happy to accept requests and commissions - within reason of course!
