Since 1978 Ron Larsen has been engaged in the manufacture and sale of handmade utilitarian stoneware pottery from his studio in upstate New York northwest of the Adirondack Mountains. Although his engagement with nature photography has fluctuated during this period depending on the demands of his pottery business, the last six or seven years have seen his photographic activity grow to almost equal that of his pottery. The majority of his photographic work is based in and around the Adirondack Mountains, but he has also made images from further afield, such as the New England states and Grand Canyon National Park, the latter during three separate rafting trips on the Colorado River. Previously he worked with 35mm film, but currently he relies exclusively on digital technology. His images have appeared in Adirondack Life Magazine.
